Brooch “Dropped Ice Cream – Chocolate”, 2024
Naturally tanned reindeer leather, citrines, light clay
Sculpting and wet molding leather

The Dropped Ice Cream brooches offer a surreal take on the iconic moment when an eagerly anticipated treat – a child’s ice cream – ends up on the ground. The Dropped Ice Cream is a symbol of the moment when the disaster has already happened. The shit has hit the fan, so to speak. But there can be a calm in the eye of the storm. We assess the damage and, wearing our grief proudly, we start moving forward.

The brooches are crafted from naturally tanned reindeer leather. The core is sculpted from lightweight clay, which then has been covered with wet molded leather and citrine pearls serve as the « sprinkles » on top.
