Ring “Paisaje Alquímico”, 2024
Silver, cooper
Foundry and weld

Alchemical Landscape is a ring that evokes the shape of a monolith and combines the solidity of a geometric volume with the lightness of the structure that hugs the finger. With this combination I intend to represent a ruined construction, where the organic and the artificial are interacting and telling stories of past and future times of nature itself.

To create this ring, I have used experimental casting techniques with which I have achieved the symbiotic union of two metals, silver and copper. Being such a solitary trade in this case I have needed the collaboration of other hands to be able to melt and pour both metals from opposite ends at the same time, causing a clash in the center that generates unpredictable and random results. Metals, by intertwining in an unpredictable way, generate unrepeatable patterns that in this case evoke natural landscapes, symbolizing interaction and the creation of a microcosm.

Alchemical Landscape is, in essence, the fruit of a unique alchemical dance between metals becoming a tangible testimony to the interconnection and harmony between different elements of the Earth, symbolizing the creation of something new from the interaction.
