Nature(s) Medicine

‘It is clear to all of us that the degree of the current chaos in the world is caused by our own actions….‘ and the twin crises of climate change and biodiversity loss are two of the biggest risks facing our ability to survive and thrive on this planet. These crises are inextricably linked and a failure in addressing one will impact the other. Climate change worsens conditions for the endangered animals and plants, which are already under pressure. But conversely, according to the UN climate panel, nature is a central part of the solution to the climate crisis.

‘Nature(s) Medicine’ is a brooch with a medicine compartment for every day of the week. It is a brooch made to leave small but beautiful areas of wildflowers on a map of wasteland made by humans. The wearer must leave these seeds of blooming life by emptying a medicine compartment and plant the seeds of wildflowers every day of the week. At the end of the week when all compartments are empty, the open brooch will look like a blooming flower itself.

Then the compartments are refilled with seeds and the sowing starts again and new seeds of blooming life will be spread in nature and city.
