FRAGILITY

Fragility is a state of tension — between strength and collapse, between freedom and threat, between life and its disappearance.
My brooch Black Cloud was inspired by the installation of Ukrainian artist Oleksiy Sai, which rose above the desert of Burning Man and lasted only one day before being torn apart by a storm.
The installation is a monumental black cloud with inner light and a soundtrack by Ukrainian electronic musician Involver, built from real sounds of war recorded in Zaporizhzhia. It called on the world to recognize the threat of a new global conflict and to stand with Ukraine against darkness.
The fact that the storm destroyed it in the Nevada desert became a metaphor of our time: even the strongest forms can fall apart.
I wanted to give this cloud a new life — to make it wearable, to transform a symbol of loss into a sign of presence.
Crafted from titanium, steel, and black wool, the brooch holds the tension between hardness and softness, cold and warmth.
Here, fragility is not a sign of weakness but a reminder of human resilience. The quiet strength to face the storm and not turn away.
For only by accepting our vulnerabi
