FRAGILITY
Youjin Um
South Korea

In the daily life of the beginning and the repetition, I take the center of my mind and begin to walk on the map I drew. A lot of steps that sometimes went straight along the mind map to work or recharge, and then back again. Create objects that are drawn through memory in accumulated time.
I walk and walk with a lot of thoughts and resolutions today and tomorrow to meet the place I always go to. I heal the wounds of my heart caused by others through the methods and routes of walking on the road. Perhaps as I walk on the road, I can comfort myself with my weakness and get good nourishment to come back to work as a worker and make my things. Repeat turning and turning at a constant pace to find another direction and avoid frequent glances.
The shadow I have drawn continues the life of trying to focus on me on the road.

FRAGILITYAgnes WOSpain“At the beginning there is nothing. Then comes a deep void, and beyond it, a blue depth.” These words, drawn from Bachelard’s L’air et les songes and embraced by Yves Klein in Le Vide (1958), open the path for my two pieces. Both arise from the...
