Claudia Steiner | « My work is always inspired by architecture and nature. Photos, I am taken from places or things of the surrounding where I live or what I discover, little awarenesses of every day life, are the starting point. The urban landscape jewelery pieces are inspired by patterns, forms and lines from an urban public space in Vienna. I took three different shapes and transform them with folding, varied sizes and materials, repeating and giving them a frame – like a room for new ideas and thinkings. This new aesthetically meaning where the origin didn‘t exist at the first view, invites everybody to discover and to find their own interpretations and thoughts. »

Mar Sanchez | « We yearn for happiness, seek peace, love. And, generally, we seek outside ourselves. I suspect none of this depends on external circumstances. My heart tells me that the lost paradise is inside me, waiting to be found. » (*)

Masako Hamaguchi | « This series evolved from the ongoing Plankton series of brooches. In all these works a metal component, whose design incorporates both the prongs and the brooch mechanism, holds a plastic shape which thus becomes wearable. There is an emphasis on the back side of these brooches, the conspiratorial space known only to the wearer, the brooch itself, and the maker. In some of the pieces a glimpse of gold through the holes in the plastic shapes hints at the hidden lives behind. Cellulose Acetate was invented in 1865. Cellulose is most commonly sourced from wood chips (remnants from wood processing – and paper industries) or cotton linters (recycled textiles and waste materials from textile industry), it is thus unlike petrochemicals based plastics, ecological. Suivi Tupola | « On the surface is a series about texture, touch and comfort. I wanted to create something that invites the viewer to touch, stroke and feel. There is an element of stress relief in the sense of touch. A touch can ground you and calm you. Touching can be something to focus on when the world around is getting too much. » (*)
