Sinéad Cooke | « I make contemporary art jewellery that combines traditional skills and materials with re-purposed waste materials to create work that is both beautiful and thought provoking. In this body of work I was examining the ideas around material value. Informed by our consumer society, this collection of work exposes the possibilities that waste material has to offer. Mixing discarded packaging with silver further investigates notions of value. Through materiality and form, I am exploring the potential of this disposable plastic to be transformed into highly crafted and beautiful wearables. »(*)
