Call for projects for artists working the Contemporary Art Jewelery for the Permanent gallery in 2017.
The goal of ASSOCIATION ALLIAGES, non-profit organization, is to promote artists from Contemporary Art Jewelery.
The artists selected in this call will be shown their work in our Permanent Showroom in Lille (France) and eventually in events organized out of the walls. Exhibition dates : Feb to Nov 2017.
2. APPLICATION / SUBMISSION DEADLINE & FEE / SELECTION / ENTRY CRITERIA
APPLICATION : Only artists working in contemporary art jewelery can apply for this exhibition with 5 works max (the works sent in the application form are those that will be sent and exposed, 3 works minimum). Applications must imperatively be sent via the dedicated form below : 3-5 works (2 pics per work) & text with the statement. Other way to submit will not be taken into consideration.
SUBMISSION DEADLINE & FEE : Deadline for applications is Monday January 3rd, 2017 midnight. Applications sent after the deadline will not be accepted. Only one application per artist will be accepted (first application sent). Group or branded applications will not be accepted. Fee to apply is 15 (fifteen) Euros. The application fee must be payed within the 3 days after the application the latest.
SELECTION : A selection will be made among all artists candidates few days after deadline and the artists candidates will be informed of the choice (A maximum of 50 artists will be selected). The selected works will be displayed in our social networks : Facebook page, Instagram, Flickr, … The curator of this exhibition is Juan Riusech, founder of ALLIAGES and contemporary art jeweler.
ENTRY CRITERIA : Free vision of the works. Free choice of media/materials/size. Works presented must be original, created in last 2 years and never showed in ALLIAGES gallery. Works can be to sell or only to show.
3. WORKS PRESENTED / TRANSPORT
Selected artists will provide a text with their statement. The artworks must be delivered for end-January of the year of presence with a list price & pics of work presented (format of the list provided by the organization). Works received after deadline might not be presented. The artists have total freedom to make their artwork, however the association may refuse the artworks if they are displaced in their message (eg, discrimination, racism, hate, etc …), are detrimental to the image of association or if the quality of execution is deemed insufficient from jeweler’s point of view. In this case, the association will not reimburse expenses incurred by the artist and will return immediately the works at artist charge.
DELIVERY : The artists has the choice to send the artworks or drop them directly at the gallery. In both cases, all costs (including all kind of taxes and fees, ex. Custom taxes if applicable) will be at artist’s charge. If works sent are not the works submitted, ALLIAGES will might not present the works sent and will return them at artist charge, no reimbursement of fee will be possible. Parcel measures must be : L + l + h = 90 cm où L = 60 cm maximum.
RETURNS: Returns will be done via “La Poste” French mail-post, not insured and no declared value, with certified parcel. The full cost of return is at artists charge, including any extra fee or tax (the association will not send fragile items through the post-mail.) The artist can always recover his artwork at the association’s headquarters (at his/her expense). The organizers do not assume any liability or responsibility during transport of works (both ways). Parcels having a weight more than 4 KG will not be sent and will have to be recuperated directly at the gallery by the artist or a carrier send by the artist.
4. EXHIBITION FEES
The selected artists will pay a participation fee of 50 (fifty) Euros for the period of the exhibition (why to pay). Fee must be payed at begin of the year and includes membership to the association. Any delay in payment implies the exclusion of the artist in the exhibition. All taxes or bank and payment charges for this payment will be at artist charge. If the exhibition is shown off-the-wall, a small participation may be requested to the artist.
5. WORK SALES
The artist allows the association to mandate him and will concede 15% of the sales to the association for its fixed costs.
ARTIST will be insured under the terms of the insurance contract of association only if he has accomplished with all procedure of membership. Transport in both ways will not be covered by association insurance. Any franchise or extra fee will be supported by the artist. The artists can have his own insurance.
Selection decisions are irrevocable. ARTIST allows ASSOCIATION to reproduce WORKS exposed (and text) for the purpose of promoting of the association and its archives, in any form. Assignment of the right of reproduction granted by the ARTIST is non-exclusive, non-transferable, unlimited territory for the distribution of reproductions.
General and call communication will be made in English. ALLIAGES will provide to the artists the tools to send all the information requested for the exhibition. Any other way to send the information requested will not be accepted. The artists will respect the Internal Rules of ALLIAGES.
