Aurelia Yeomans | « There is quietness and a raw energy in the earth, where minerals give birth to form and slowly solidify in geologic time. My work pays homage to the dynamism of these metamorphic states, exploring the phenomena of light, darkness and the traces of passing time – evident in environmental rhythms and the changing topography of the natural landscape. Through an observation of nature and an inherent connection to land informed by my upbringing in the mountainous regions of Australia, my work serves as a vehicle to express a part of the psyche connected to it – honing instinct and emotion to visually and texturally manifest impressions and experiences through the medium of jewellery; allowing us time to intimately reflect on its stories – both embedded and imagined. « (*)
